THE STORY BEHIND OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

Kate has been accepted for a life-changing surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) in the United States.

SDR will eliminate the pain Kate is currently experiencing when walking and the  future deterioration caused by spasticity which will ultimately cause her to lose her walk and end up wheelchair bound.  This is not the future we want for Kate which is why after months of extensive research we have decided to launch the Keep Kate Walking fundraising campaign to raise the 100,000 euro required to access this surgery and the mandatory two years post-op rehabilitation as this will not be funded by the HSE. A deed of trust has been established for this.
